The first ever team state championship in North Oldham History has arrived!
The North Oldham Boys Cross Country team won the KHSAA boys state championship for AA on Saturday the 15th. Despite an injury to Sean O'Nan a top 5 varsity runner the mustangs were able to pull off the state title win over some very good teams such as Calloway County (2nd), West Jessamine (3rd), South Oldham (4th) and Christian Academy (5th).
They defeated 27 schools with an excellent score of 108 points. Calloway County was 2nd with 140 points.
The Mustangs were led by freshman Taylor Sanders who placed 4th in a season best time of 16:28. Justin Roenigk finished shortly after in 11th with a 16:55 and Colin Grandon placed 14th in an excellent time of 17:01. Ryan Kalmey followed that up in 33rd place with a strong time of 17:38. Nathan Yates finished the scoring for the Mustangs in 80th place. Taylor Horn was 6th for the team and finished in 84th place and Andrew Beno scored 7th for the team in 92nd place.
The top 4 boys all ran career best times and set the stage for one of the best teams in the state of Kentucky coming back in 2009. Coach LaMaster would like to congratulate Taylor Horn and thank him for his fine contributions as a senior captain.
Thanks for visiting and GO MUSTANGS!
